A passion for creating art, teaching and connecting with people began at an early age for Konstantina, who was born in Warren, Ohio and attended Kent State University, earning a Bachelor Degree in Art Education K-12.
Konstantina’s influences and strength for life stems from a variety of source, beginning Only through connection to the Lord, and the Krsna Consciousness movement, while thanking God for her beautiful young daughters who share with her a compassionate and creative way of seeing, as they connect as a team, learning through life's daily adventures and challenges. Realizing that there is no reason not to share in this space that each day begins and ends through a desire to only become an instrument of the Supreme as He guides, each contribution I could make in this world, through first strengthening through Reading, Praying, chanting, Listening and Trusting Him.
Painting or creating with acrylic or mixed media also brings clarity, as does relationships with loving people, her former students, the Periods of Art of Pablo Picasso and other great Masters, the wonders of our natural Earth and the beautiful, incredibly penetrating sound of music through Kirtan, and the music of so many, stemming from a special teenage appreciation for Jerry Garcia, his Gospel, and Improvisation, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, and Cat Stevens......
Kirtan, Music and the connections of people through the heart creates a healing vibration, a Sound with the presence of collaboration and community, and the chanting of God's names, it is what cleans the dust on the heart.

...."If we walk together little children, We don't ever have to worry, Through this world of trouble, We've gotta love one another, Let us take our fellow man, by the hand, Try to help him to understand, We can all be together, shakin' a hand, when we make it to the promised land"...

As a Visual Arts educator, Deena executed a well-rounded, discipline based experience complying with curriculum state standards and grade level expectations, offering exciting 2D &3D creative opportunities, continuously engaging with the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design, utilizing a variety of media, while providing accommodations and provisions of many, that could bring about with encouragement, the success of each student artist.
Working with her students, creating continuous demonstration pieces of almost everything she would invite her students to create, kept her love of the creation process growing and alive. Deena thoroughly enjoyed any opportunity that allowed for collaboration and learning through the connection of core subject areas and visual interpretation, which lead to several years of volunteering as Liaison for the school Multicultural Advisory Committee and collaboration with the Social Studies and Multicultural Studies Depts.
While engaged in the teaching of art, Konstantina transports to students the love and appreciation of art and peoples from around the globe. The result of these individual and collaborative explorations fostered an understanding on a deeper level of history and culture, criticism and analysis, aesthetics, and the finding of personal voice through the production and experience of art.
Konstantina especially found joy when given the opportunity to display the work of her students.
After spending some years dormant from reflective, personal painting, Konstantina began painting on a deeper, more intimate level, as shared on the homepage in detail, still to date unraveling pieces within. Interested in larger scale canvas and a desire to express realizations, emotions, environment and events, Konstantina continues to embrace this connection, reaching for the clearness that can only be revealed through the understanding of the depth of knowledge gained through reading, inspired by making art with symbolism and exciting color mixing while trying to unravel the dusty layers of the heart with her brush.

Konstantina also enjoys creating custom works for clients, as it allows for her to delve into a different way of understanding, a different way of seeing; painting a meaningful work for another.
