Sharing just the outer shell of  a few paintings....

Uncle John's Band

Associated with connection to sound through music.

Created in response to friendship.

The Unfolding

First piece to be displayed in ISAP-Fl exhibition.

The beginning of self evaluation through a brush began on several smaller sized canvas, as well as the entire wall space of my garage studio. The Unfolding was created June, 2011, and exhibited later that year with the International Society of Acrylic Painters-Fl.

The Unfolding, not permitted for so long, just a taste of truth again, wanting to chant and be happy. …."but it takes so long, I know...."

Leading Home

July, 2013..

Moving.

Reaching upward, toward the sound, toward the good, trying to unlock the truth with the keys, but not the keys of this material world.

I Shall Be Released

Created summer, 2012 and Displayed in the ISAP-Fl exhibition later that year.

Now a signatured member of Isap-Fl.

"They say every man needs protection,

they say every man must fall.

Yet I swear I see my reflection,

Some place so high above this wall.

I see my light come shining,

from the west on to the east,

Any day now, any day how,

I Shall be Released".

Tangled Up In Blue

Sept, 2012.

Realism, Cubism. Symbolism.

Layered lightly.

Seeking deeply.

Inspiration Moves Me                   Brightly

Created Sept, 2013.

The breathing in of this world. So much is so dry. Yet

you still hide, wanting to reach for the bhakti, but so difficult thinking you are alone.

The Tigers

2013. Inspired through a few words during a conversation about a tiger and some foliage, I immeditely began to drift, envisioning the combination of aesthetic qualities of an animal and the beauty of a guitar that was played by Jerry Garcia from 1979 to 1989. The Tigers just offers a partial glimpse of both vibrations connecting.

Many Worlds I've Come

Created in the winter of 2013. A portrait in the series of self analysis. Inspired by just a glimpse of realizations.

This piece was created as a result of a tragic and untimely passing of a lovely little girl, Sonia, age 11, on Nov.15, 2013, whom I had the honor of teaching Visual Arts. This composition came directly from a writing that was found in Sonia's bedroom by her older sister, a writers workshop narrative that served as peaceful closure for the family to hold on to in her absence. The layers of symbolism are a reflection of understanding, of comprehension, of interpretation..

Box of Rain

Jan, 2013.

Peering out within the face of a Van, the windows, not just windows, but a book. Opened pages, inside filled with pain and hope. The answers are written there.

Roads lead throughout. Figures sharing. Strength  hidden. All written within a spiral notebook.

  Gateway to the                Supreme

Spring, 2014.

Layers.

All within the wings of a beautiful butterfly,

Gurudeva, the heartbeat, The drum. Held together with Harmony. The sound vibration within the wings.

Crying to be part of this world.

Dave's Custom Board

8'6"

Spring 2015

Sharing my portfolio with others has lead to opportunities to ceate peronalized works for others. It is an inspirational challenge that I thoroughly enjoy, combining another person's visual interest with a symbolic story-telling painting style.

In the Attics

July 2015

This work was created in Celebration of Jerry Garcia and the 50th Reunion of the Grateful Dead.

The Grateful Dead were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California. The band is known for its unique and eclectic style which fused elements of country, folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae, rock and improvisational jazz.

The Dead were known for their incredible live performances. Each and every song lead into a lengthy improvisational instrumental jam, telling a story through the words themselves spoken and the communication of the instruments as they connected.

The Dead toured constantly throughout their career, playing more than 2,300 concerts and promoted a community; a fan-base-following from all round the globe.

The 50th Reunion Celebration began in Santa Clara, Ca. for two shows and ended at Soldier Field, in Chicago, for three shows, ending with second encore, Attics of my Life.

Here or Hear

July 2015

This work is a 40x40 canvas that speaks to the heart of the crippling suffocation within this material world , yet the hope and ultimate understanding that exists if we listen well to the soul, and say the names of God.

It's Only Fractured

Aug 9 2013

A deep symbolic interpretation.
